1. Minutes read from the 11/2/05/2011 Board Meeting. Approved.
2. Financial statement for 12/31/2011 read and approved.
3. Bills presented for $16,315.42. Payments approved.
PUBLIC COMMENT:

COMMUNICATIONS:
> 2012 Bay Watershed Conference at SVSV on 03/16/2012.
> TCRC will hold a public input meeting on 01/04/2012 concerning
Federal Transportation Funding projects.
OLD BUSINESS:
4. Title check on new property: Lawsuit letters have been filed
aganist interested parties to quiet title. No update.
5. Cemetery sign: Still at B&B Signs.
6. Federal Flood Insurance Program: The township attorney, Gary
Howell, will write a simple ordinance pertaining to the new
floodplain maps and their use in Novesta Township. The
new ordinance must be delivered to FEMA by 03/31/2012
so landowners can purchase Ferderal Flood Insurance.
7. Township CPA. Two bids were received for 2012-13. King & King
from Marlette, MI. came in for a total of $2,550.00. Anderson,
Tuckey, Bernhardt, & Doran bid $2,125.00 for 2012-13. It was
moved and supported to hire Anderson, Tuckey, Bernhardt, &
Doran. Approved.
8. Mr. & Mrs. Dickson's property. The response letter has been
sent to Ms. Terassi, the Dicksons lawyer by Steve Jarvis. This
issue will be revisited next month.
9. Township Master Plan. Dale requested volunteers from the
Planning Commission to work on the Master Plan. Dave Hoard,
Dale Mills, Ronald Patera, and Beth Mellendorf volunteered to
work on this project. Novesta Township has never had a Master
Plan.
NEW BUSINESS:
10. Service agreement for Optech Insight Voting System from
Election Service. Motions made and approved to purchase
full service agreement for $235.00.
11. Removal of garbage fee from parcel # 018-014-000-1300-01
because of house fire on this parcel and owner has not rebuilt.
Township to resubmit tax bill without fee for 2012 on the 2011
property tax bill and reimburse landowner for the two years
previous. Removal of garbage fee on parcel # 018-003-000-
2000-00 because trailer house on this parcel was removed.
Township to reimburse property owner for one year of garbage
fee. Motions made and approved.
12. 2012 meeting dates presented. Motions made and approved
to authorize meeting dates & times has presented.
13. 2012 Poverty Property Tax Exemption. Property asset level of
$75,000.00 SEV (State Equalized Value) $150,000.00 TCV
(True Cash Value) or below to apply for
exemption or partial exemption. Motions made and resolution
adopted based on these property values.
14. Freedom of Information Act charges (FOIA) Due to the cost of
ink, paper, etc, and time involved motions were made and
approved to increase charge from $0.25 to $.50 per page.
15. Clerk, Joann Tauber, proposed the following budget
amendments:
>General Fund Expenditures, Printing & Publishing: increase
by $1800.00.
>Treasurer, Office Supplies: increase by $300.00.
Motions made and approved to adjust budget.
